Help with my Mac Book..?

okay so i got my mac book like on june 20th when i brought it home i hooked it up to the internet modem that was hooked up to my apple desktop and i had no internet connection so i brought it to my sisters house and tried her Internet box thingy and it didn’t work but it worked for my cousins laptop. my sister thinks i got a bad one and should exchange it but my mom sed the receipt says return date is july 4th witch unfortunately was yesterday.. omg what do i do?
i did use an ethernet cord

It is under warranty. You have free tech call phone service from Apple. You have to turn your internet connection on and you have to set it. Just phone Apple, and they’ll talk you through it. It takes maybe 5 minutes. Make sure you are using an ethernet cord & not a phone cord, they are different but look alike.
